This little Venezuelan sandwich shop is kind of hard to find for non locals to the area. Fortunately for me, my brother lived in the area for a couple years and we were able to enjoy the amazing food here. The steak sandwich is the thing to get if you like a tasty, crunchy sandwich. Slices of sirloin are melted with cheese and pressed nicely between two slices of bread. It was very affordable as well. Definitely will be coming back!

Great Empanadas, lentil soup is one of the best I've had. Good service. Beef with rice and sweet plantains was very good. The coffee is great too. Small quite local restaurant and great value. Made my day.

Me and hubby stopped here for lunch and it was great. Both had Cuban sandwiches. Mine was 1/2 sandwich with a salad. Salad was very good also. Just right.

This is a must-visit for delicious authentic Latino cuisine! The tostones and the arepas were phenomenal. I can tell that each meal is prepared from the heart! Our service was very prompt and there was only one waiter on the floor. He did an awesome job of taking care of his customers. I will most certainly make this a stop each time I'm in the Daytona area.

Don't judge the book by its cover. This restaurant would be a testimony to that adage. The exterior had this run down look which would make you look around for another place to eat but take that leap inside and you would not be disappointed. It's a family owned restaurant which is a year old. The kitchen is right at the entrance. We were in Daytona for the weekend and wanted to try something new. We ordered tamales, vegetable patagones, sweet plantains and fish fillet. Tamales was a new experience and it had a ridged texture to it. They have a green mint flavored sauce and a red spicy sauce. Both of them tasted homemade. Patagones tasted very earthy. Although, the base used in the dish was fried - it wasn't oily. Sweet plantains was well cooked and tasted really nice. Cafe latte packed in more espresso - just tha way I like it. Tres de leche was just so good. It literally melted in the mouth. Bottom line: home cooked tasty meal and desserts. Give it a shot and prove me wrong !

The place to try some traditional Venezuelan anda Cubano treats. Great service although the place can be hard to find. Don't miss the arepas, tequeños and Cuban sandwich!!!!

Fabulous. A tiny, family run restaurant serving delicious Latino food at very reasonable prices. We've enjoyed the beef pabellon, grilled chicken, steak sandwich and the cubanito. The seating area is small, but we go for lunch and have always been seated right away.

Had the pabellon - black beans had great flavor as did the shredded beef. You're not giving stars for ambiance here, it's in a converted house on a busy street with simple settings. But the food was spot on. My in-laws are Puerto Rican and their sweet plaintains (mofongo) was delicious. I think they also have tostones (garlicky smashed plaintains) which I bet would be good too. This place is/was categorized as Venezuelan. I don't think there is anything particularly Venezuelan about it. It looks like a mix of Cuban/Puerto Rican/Carribean/Latin flavors.

First time for lunch today. Felt like I never left...same stove cooking up great food. The Cubanito sandwich was done the way I like it. My wife had a half sandwich with salad. So glad the folks opened here.

Papi chulo! Went in for a quick Cuban. Best I've had in town. Good sized and it came with a tasty little cup of chicken vegetable soup. They also brought me two creamy hot sauces, red and green. Green was cilantro with garlic and onion, and I couldn't put it down. Everything was fresh and home made. Didn't have any, but the coffee smelled great. I'll be back to try some of their Venezuelan dishes.

I'll be back! Good food and good service. I had the Pabellon (shredded beef) and a delicious cup of lentil soup while I waited for my meal. The only down side is that parking is horrible.

Now that I've eaten there 5 or 6 times this week and tried several dishes, I'm giving it 5 stars, hands down. The owners put loving care into each and every dish. Our first visit was on a Saturday. This is when they have a Chicken soup speial which is the best chicken soup of all time as far as I'm concerned. The broth has a little bit of cream and there are lots of fresh tender pieces of chicken along with freshly made white cheese cubes that get to this wonderfully soft texture in the soup and also another cheese that's great in there. There is no way I can put my finger on the flavor. You just have to try it and you won't be sorry, I promise. Don't miss a Saturday in Daytona without going there!!! My chicken and avocado areppa is assembled fresh each time to order. The caesar salad is yummy, the Pabellon arepa is great. It has shredded skirt steak, black beans, soft Venezuelan white cheese and fried plantains. The savory/sweet juxtaposition is divine. They are now open until 6pm on Friday and Saturday. This is a national treasure!

This place is delicious. Tender chicken, sautéed onions with a side of salad greens, avacado, etc with a creamy dressing and sweet plantains. Huge portion, ridiculously cheap prices and quality ingredients. Really great meal!

This is an absolutely awesome little jem my daughter took me to recently. Everything was fantastic, and it definitely has the feel of home. Very small restaurant in a not so great part of town, but it is absolutely worth a visit.

Fantastic quaint little Latin restaurant. Everything was delicious from the fruit beverages to the homemade soup to the generously stuffed arepas. Be proud to support a "real" establishment that is becoming ever rarer to find.

Actual visit 9/10/14. Pabellon - shredded beef with white rice, black beans, sweet plantain and fresh cheese. The Venezuelan version of Ropa Vieja. The meal was ok. Complementary cup of soup while waiting for lunch entree. Server was very nice. It's easy to miss, so don't drive by too fast.

Being a devoted Chucherrias fan, I was hesitant to venture into Sazon, knowing that it is in the same location where Chucherrias was. It felt wrong. I felt like I was cheating. But I was hungry, and since Chucherrias has yet to open, I needed my latin food fix. Once inside, I was greeted with the same friendly smile as I was accustomed with Chucherrias. I will stop comparing the two, because Sazon is unique and amazing on its own. The food in Sazon is predominately Venezuelan. There are quite a bit of Arepa choices (uniquely from that region), main entrees, and sandwiches. The cuban looked good but will save that for another trip. I went with Pabellon, a traditional Venezuelan dish consisting of marinated shredded beef, black beans, white rice, and sweet plantains. Every bite was flavor filled. This is food made with passion. Fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. Since Tres Leches is on the menu, I could not resist. One of the best slices I've had. They also serve espresso drinks, which is always a plus. I'm very happy that we have another great latin restaurant in our neighborhood. It's nice to see this trend expanding. I'm hoping more people will give this place a try. Completely worth it!

Great food, great service! Owners are very friendly and food was authentic! You must give this place a shot regardless of its hole in the wall location (which is what I like best) Arepas were delicious and you cannot leave this place without trying the tequenos!! Grrreat

I must admit, I was hesitant to go here judging by the appearance of the venue. I was actually surprised by how good the food was. I had the Cubanito sandwich, and I tried one of my friend's Tostones (fried plantains). I have had the sweet variety before, but never savory plantains, and I thought that both they and the sandwich were quite good. The venue still leaves something to be desired, but the food and the price were great!

Great home made authentic food. Empanadas are tasteful and crispy, cooked to perfection. Big portions. Sandwiches are delicious and filled with all the good fresh stuff they prepare. Meals are cooked to order and well balanced. For dessert, try the quesillo, you won't regret.

My first experience at Sazon Latino was not a food one. I went, thinking Chucherias had not yet moved. I saw the closed/moved sign but was confused because when looked in the door, I saw someone inside working. I started to turn around and go back to my car, when the worker I saw inside came out to greet me. He asked me if I was looking for Chucherias, and when I said yes, he very kindly told me the exact location to which they moved and when they would be open. In addition, he gave me a business card and to-go menu for his restaurant and told me when they'd be open. He was incredibly kind and asked me to visit when they opened. This, in and of itself, sold me on at least coming again when they did open. I went back to work, looked over their menu and became very excited in anticipation of their opening as I saw several things on the menu I was not familiar with or that sounded great to try. A couple of weeks later, I called to see if they were open for business. I was happy to find out that they were and was on my way. Everything on the menu looks amazing, and I vowed to try everything they offer because of their incredibly, warm, welcoming and inviting atmosphere and workers. The owners now know me by name and I by theirs, and I've tried nearly everything on the menu. Not a single complaint. I highly recommend this place to anyone, as their food is delicious and fresh and unique, their atmosphere is that of a welcoming family home, and their owners make you feel appreciated and aim to please.
